About Sleep Test

Sleep Test is developed and operated in Norway by DMZ DATA AS.

You can use Sleep Test to reflect on your sleep and related habits. You answer the questions yourself. This tool cannot diagnose a condition or replace a healthcare professional’s assessment.

Editorial principles

We describe what research has found and say so when evidence is weak or missing. We do not promise better sleep, and we do not call anything a treatment unless the cited research describes it as one. Practical suggestions are written as options to try, not as rules that suit everyone.

The test and the articles have not been reviewed as a clinical tool, and no healthcare professional has approved individual reports. We say this openly instead of implying an expert review that has not taken place.

How sources are chosen

Factual claims in the articles point to numbered, peer-reviewed sources listed on PubMed. The same number refers to the same source in every language, and the method page lists all 51 references. Each source is used only for what it actually covers. Links to public health organisations appear under Further reading and lead to their main websites.

When something is wrong

If you find an error, an outdated statement or a broken link, email kontor@dmz.no and tell us which page you mean. We check the claim against its source and correct the text where needed. Articles show the date they were last updated.

Who the service is not for

Sleep Test is not suitable for emergencies, for deciding whether you are fit to drive, or for deciding on medicines or treatment. If you have thoughts of harming yourself, are in crisis or your symptoms are severe, contact a doctor or your local emergency number straight away. The guidance on sleep length in the articles refers to adults.
